The heavy storms of 22/23 August 2005 are still in vivid memory: Our illustration on this page show the incident in the town of Lucerne. With simple means such as sandbags and improved stone walls, attempts were made to protect well-known buildings like the Culture and Congress Centre Lucerne (KKL) or bank promenades.
